The esteemed city hotel The Queen at Chester has announced that it will host a festive literary celebration called “Book Babes Take Xmas 2026”. Famous for accommodating author Charles Dickens, the hotel is a natural choice for the event, which will bring together new and established writers from a wide range of genres to meet and connect with readers.
Hosted by Jenn Thompson, the event will feature a mix of new and experienced authors and celebrate the art of storytelling while marking the start of the festive season. The book signing will include authors working in romance, mystery, fantasy, the paranormal and more, allowing guests to pick up signed copies of their favourite books. Authors confirmed to attend include Amy Davies, A Ravensbrook, C.J. Laurence, Erin Coal, Kelly Lord, KC Kean, Kimber Stone and Nicky Priest, to name but a few.
As well as welcoming authors, the event will showcase several vendors offering bookish treasures, unique gift ideas and seasonal must-haves, enabling visitors to enjoy some bespoke Christmas shopping. Sellers include A Throne of Books, Midgard Crafting, Get The Book Out, BookbestiesUK and Melts by Maxine.
The book signing will take place from 10 am to 4 pm, followed by a Christmas party from 7 pm.
Book Babes Take Xmas 2026 will be held at The Queen at Chester on Saturday, 28 November. The Premier Collection hotel is located at 52 City Road, and admission is priced between £14.25 and £50 per person. The event will start at 10 am and finish at midnight.
