Fans of The Who visiting or living in Chester are in for a thrill this autumn. Who’s Next, the UK’s premier tribute act dedicated to the rock band that became icons of the Mod subculture, will be playing in the city for a single-night performance.
The headquarters of grassroots music and comedy in Chester, Alexander’s Live is presenting the show, which features accomplished musicians who both look and sound the part. Lead vocalist Karl Moulden performs as Roger Daltrey and plays keyboards and harmonica, while long-standing member and guitarist Dante DiCarlo fills the coveralls of Pete Townshend. In the rhythm section, drummer Mike Vishnick and bass player Max Edwards take on the roles of Keith Moon and John Entwistle respectively.
Since the tribute group formed in 2003, they have enjoyed critical success playing The Who’s music from the 1960s and 1970s. Offering a time-machine experience for fans, they faithfully recreate the band’s live performances, featuring world-famous songs and anthems.
Those booking tickets for the show in Chester will be treated to tracks like “Won’t Get Fooled Again”, “My Generation”, “Pinball Wizard”, “Who Are You” and “Can’t Explain”, among many others.
Who’s Next will perform a set at Alexander’s Live on Thursday 12 November. The venue can be found in Rufus Court in central Chester, and standing tickets are priced at £17.50. Admission is restricted to those aged 18 and over. Doors to the evening event will open at 7 pm, and the concert will begin at 8.30 pm.
