For the 11th year in a row, “The Snowman Tour” is making a stop in Chester.
Perfectly times, the travelling show will arrive at Chester Cathedral the day before Christmas Eve. The grade listed venue will show multiple screenings of The Snowman, the beloved animated film based on the children’s picture book by British illustrator and cartoonist Raymond Briggs. The animation is often described as a symphonic poem and features only music without dialogue.
The upcoming show in Chester features a live orchestra playing in synch with the film to create an immersive and unforgettable festive experience for all ages. Families attending the event can enjoy the heart-warming story of the snowman who comes to life and hear the film’s classic Christmas song “Walking in the Air”.
Children coming down to the performances with their parent will be happy to hear they can also meet the snowman himself. There will also be an opportunity to enjoy the sequel “The Snowman and the Snowdog” on screen along with “The Bear, the Piano, the Dog, and the Fiddle”, inspired by the David Litchfield book.
To date, the show, presented by Carrot Productions, has amazed audiences around the UK over 200 times.
The Snowman Tour will now be at Chester Cathedral on Monday, December 23. There will be three screenings of the event at 2 pm, 4 pm and 6 pm and the cathedral is located on St. Werburgh Street in Chester. The show is suited to those aged three and over.
