English Comedian to Entertain Chester

Storyhouse in Chester will soon welcome English actress and comedian Kerry Godliman to perform her latest show.

April will see the celebrated city arts hub present the multi-talented performer’s new material titled “Bandwidth” at an almost two-hour long event that includes an intermission.

The London-born actress is well-known for her television roles in popular programmes like Ricky Gervais’s darkly comic “After Life”, mockumentary “Derek”, ITV comedy “Bad Move” and as Pearl Nolan, the lead character in the mystery “Whitstable Pearl”. However, Godliman is also a writer, Radio Four broadcaster, podcaster and no stranger to the stand-up comedy scene. She has appeared several times on “Live at the Apollo” and 2022 saw her on stage at Blackheath Halls in the capital performing her hit show called “Bosh”.

Now with Bandwidth, Godliman is letting audience members step inside her shoes as a middle-aged woman facing a scale of unique challenges from parenting teenage children to considering selling hormone replacement therapy on the black market. Her stand-up comedy has already earned high praise from critics, winning a four-star review from the Evening Standard while The Guardian commented:

“Vigour, charm and plenty good gags.”

Kerry Godliman will now bring her Bandwidth set to Storyhouse on Wednesday, April 9. The arts centre is sited on Hunter Street and Godliman will be on stage in the main theatre at 7.30 pm. The show has a strict age restriction of 14 and over and tickets are priced £19 for Storyhouse members and £20 for non-members.
