A beloved greenspace open to the public, Grosvenor Park is favoured by visitors and residents all year round.
Now, those in charge of the ornamental gardens overlooking the River Dee have proclaimed they will be welcoming a special guest during December. Families coming down to the park at weekends will have the chance for a meet and greet with Santa Claus himself, along with his tireless toymaking elves.
The festive feature will run at Grosvenor Park’s popular café called “The Lodge” between the hours of 10.30 am and 3.30 pm on both Saturdays and Sundays throughout the last month of the year.
From 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm, there will be a special quiet hour for families looking for a Christmas experience with fewer people present. The door to Santa’s Grotto will be closed, so a single family can visit Santa by themselves for a more private and personalised experience.
All children coming down to the event to meet Santa will also receive a special Christmas present to put under their tree.
The café is also offering families in and around Chester a chance to meet Santa during a seasonal afternoon tea on certain days. These days are Saturday, December 21 and Sunday, December 22 between 11 am and 2 pm. The afternoon tea lasts an hour followed by a meeting with Santa straight afterwards.
Admission to the festive event is just £7, and the park is easy to find on Grosvenor Park Road in Chester.
