X Factor Icons to Play Chester

As part of their biggest Christmas tour yet, celebrated musical ensemble G4 will be performing at Chester Cathedral. While still running active services, the cathedral is also one of the city’s most famous events venues, with live acts and theatre companies alike making the most of its astonishing acoustics.

G4 became a household name in Britain when they took second place in the second series of the popular X Factor television programme. The stop in Chester will be just one show on an epic nationwide odyssey that will see them perform in 34 hand-picked venues across the country.

With a festive theme, those attending can expect to hear a wide range Yuletide hymns like “Silent Night”, and popular seasonal songs like “When A Child is Born” and “All I Want for Christmas”. As well as a setlist loaded with favourites from the festive songbook, the celebrated singers will also be recounting some of their boyhood musical experiences at Christmas.

The four-piece troupe has experienced some line-up changes since its inception, with the Chester show set to feature Jonathan Ansell, Mike Christie, Lewis Raines and Duncan Sandilands.

The G4 Christmas concert will take place at Chester Cathedral on Thursday, December 14. The cathedral can be found on St. Werburgh Street, with the event set to start at 7.30pm and end at 9.30pm.

For the new tour, G4 are offering new meet-and-greet VIP tickets for fans. These include a chance to get personal with the vocal group at 6pm before the festive show begins.
