Platinum Indie Appearing in Chester

Britpop legends Space will soon perform a live set in Chester.

After a successful tour last year in honour of their quarter decade of recording and gigging and their two platinum-status albums “Tin Planet” and “Spiders”, the band are taking to the road again this autumn. Now, hit city venue The Live Rooms has announced it will be part of the tour itinerary.

Unlike the Liverpool band’s 2024 odyssey, the new tour isn’t looking back, but firmly focused on the present. As a result, it will feature brand-new material from the latest addition to the space catalogue “Blood and Bubblegum”. Their eighth studio recording to date, the album was released in April this year.

However, while it won’t be a retrospective event, the upcoming Chester show is likely to feature some fan favourites, which may include the smash hit single “Female of the Species” from the album “Spiders”; the track earned the band critical attention.

While Space formed as a trio originally back in 1992, today they are a five-piece. The band consists of Lead singer-guitarist Tommy Scott, lead guitarist Jamie Murphy, keyboard player Franny Griffiths, bassist Phil Hartley and drummer Allan Jones.

Space will now be at The Live Rooms (L1) on Saturday, November 30 accompanied by Headfeeder as their special guests in support. The venue can be found at 1 Station Road in Chester and the show will start at 7 pm. Advance tickets are priced at £22.50 and available on the door for £25.50.
