How Can I Enjoy Happy Hour Day in Chester?

While Halloween has passed and Christmas is ahead, those who love to celebrate can still find special dates to enjoy in Chester. November 12 is officially “Happy Hour Day”, when people in the UK and all over the world can join with friends in some of the city’s finest venues for discounted drinks.

Happy Hour has its origins in the United States. During World War I, the US Navy hosted social events with entertainment under the banner to boost troop morale, but became synonymous with cocktails in the 20s under prohibition when drinking alcohol was forbidden.

The Botanist in Chester hosts Happy Hour between 4 pm and 7 pm from Monday to Friday and two serves mixed drinks for £15. Botanical-inspired beverages on the menu include the Peppered Peach Mojito, Cherry Blossom Martini, Lilypad Martini, Strawberry & Cucumber Breeze and the bartender-recommended Plant Pot, featuring Maker’s Mark mixed with Lazzaroni Amaretto and infused with kiwi purée, honey syrup and lemon juice.

The Lounge Bar, located in Chester hotel Oddfellows, has a generous offer running in its “Secret Garden” from Monday to Thursday. Between 5pm and 6pm it hosts a “Golden Hour”, where selected drinks are discounted by 50%.

City centre pub The Brewery Tap also offers discounts on a wide range of drinks on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. From 3pm, those visiting the watering hole based inside Gamul House can access 10% off their drinks.

Wherever you choose to celebrate Happy Hour Day on November 12, you’ll find a wide range of deals on drinks in Chester.
