Providing gastropub-style dining, The Botanist in Chester is celebrated for its botanical cocktails and attractive interior. Now, the much-loved city venue has unveiled a brand-new menu designed especially for summer.
Rolled out ahead of the season, the menu aims to pay tribute to the gastropub’s comforting classics infused with the best of botany, celebrating nourishing fruit, vegetables, nuts, legumes spices and herbs. It also includes an upgrade to the restaurant’s hallmark hanging kebabs.
Diners can tuck into brand-new summery dishes created by the creative minds leading The Botanist’s kitchen. The Allotment Board comes heaped with heritage carrots in rainbow colours, chicory green top radishes and candy beetroot ready for submersion in herby “Green Goddess” dip. Those seeking a heartier plate for two can enjoy the puff pastry delight of Gardener’s Pie featuring cannellini beans, spinach, garden peas, tender stem broccoli, carrots and sweet leeks in a tarragon cheddar sauce, or the Chicken Schnitzel with seasoned fries, celeriac and apple slaw and green garlic butter.
Chester visitors and residents in need of a protein fix won’t want to miss updates to the Famous Hanging Kebab. Already extremely popular, as The Botanist brand sells around 680,000 kebabs a year, the iconic option now has all-new “Signature Kebabs” on the summer menu. Kebab fans of all tastes are served with choices like “Slow Marinated Steak”, “Giant Piri Piri Chicken” and “Turmeric Spiced Tofu” with sides like fries, pomegranate couscous salad and garlic herb yoghurt.
New desserts have also been added, like the Plant Pot Pud trio sharer with mini shovels for sampling.
