Roodee to Host Epic Food Event this Easter

Cheshire Racecourse, also known as the Roodee, has been selected to host the 23rd edition of the Taste Cheshire Food and Drink Festival, which will take place throughout Easter Weekend.

The upcoming event officially opens tomorrow, April 8, at 10:00 am with Chef Simon Rimmer of Sunday Brunch taking the headline spot for the first day of the festivities. Other activities on opening day will include acclaimed experts on the demo stage like platinum jubilee dessert competition victor Jemma Melvin, Jamie Pickles of Knutsford’s Rose & Crown and 2022 Cheshire Cocktail champion Tristan Brady, among many others.

TV chef John Torode will headline Day Two sharing the stage with local chefs like Chef Sam Griffiths of the Chester Grosvenor, while Day Three will be led by Chris Bavin. The star of ‘Aldi’s Next Big Thing’ and ‘Eat Well for Less’ will be joined by Stuart Collins the regional winner of the Great British Menu, Chef Brian Mellor, and the Artezzan restaurant’s chef team. The final day of the Easter weekend event will be closed by The Henry Potts head chef Chris Clowes on the demo stage.

The event will also feature a live soundtrack from celebrated performers like POP VOX Choir and Chester’s LGBTQ chorus Proud Marys. Other activities taking place include the final of the Sausage Competition, free cooking classes for children and adults alike, and over 140 exhibitors celebrating the best food makers in Cheshire and cuisine from all over the world.
