Essar Chester Half Marathon 2025

The Chester Half Marathon is one of the UK’s longest established and most highly regarded half marathons, starting and finishing in the incredibly historic Roman and medieval city of Chester

Starting at the world famous Chester Racecourse and making it's way through the historic streets of Chester this really is a most unique half marathon and has been hugely popular with runners form far and wide for over 40 years!

Whilst you are visiting the city and working up quite a hunger and thirst with your running exertions we highly recommend you check out all the amazing post-race eating and drinking in Chester and of course if you are planning to stay over the city boasts fantastic places to stay for all budgets.

If you're planning to enter as a runner you will receive an early bird rate for booking in advance.

The organisers are runners themselves and passionate about delivering the perfect race; a premier quality, competitively priced race which caters for the needs of runners of all abilities and speeds, combined with friendliness and personal touches which make all the difference for your day.

The 40th year saw the introduction of a new flatter city and rural race route which will be run entirely on closed roads.

The Essar Chester Half Marathon is one of the events in their Chester Triple series - if you run all three you will acquire a Chester Triple medal!
