A village pub in the centre of Farndon - fresh food, real ale, interesting wines
The Hare is a pub in Fardon village and is all you would expect and more from a family owned village pub, offering cracking real ales, comforting wines and good honest food.
Opened in October 2020, The Hare is part of Pubs Limited, founded and run by Jerry Brunning (formerly Brunning & Price), where good food and drink with a warm welcome comes as standard. Just 9 miles outside Chester, The Hare lies on the English side of the bridge linking England and Wales, just up the hill from the river and in the middle of two thriving villages Farndon and its twin village Holt across the waters. Very much part of the village, the hum-drum of daily life is forgotten as you step inside to a warm welcome amongst friends.
The large bar is at the centre of The Hare, serving a selection of wines available on tap! Sourced, specially blended and imported by The Hare these wines offer fantastic value. There's a house beer, JPA, a truly quaffable pale session ale, a well stocked back-bar with gins to suit every taste, and whiskies for very specific tastes.

Crackling fires in winter, a front terrace for summer evenings and comfy seating all year round to enjoy the changeable menu that follows the seasons under the guidance of the chef. Expect pub classics, seasonal specials, tasty bar nibbles and delicious puddings.
The Hare is open for brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11 am - 2 pm, the daily menu is served from 12 - 9.30 pm (8 pm Sundays) and a set menu Sunday Roast is available every week.
The idyllic location, surrounded by beautiful Cheshire countryside makes The Hare the perfect base from which to explore the area. Set off with a hot cup of tea and look forward to a well-deserved lunch on your return. There are three walks of varying lengths for you to set out and explore the area taking around 2 hours or so. Maps are available from the pub or download via the 'Website' button above. Dogs are made more than welcome in the bar area or on the outside terrace, with bowls of water always available, there's no need for your four-legged friends to miss out on a countryside walk.
If you fancy staying longer to experience village life, there's a Cottage that you can stay in within the grounds of The Hare, but as there's only one, it's extremely popular, so planning ahead is essential!
