Celebrated Lyricist to Share Stories with Chester

Storyhouse, the renowned arts hive in Chester will be welcoming the internationally acclaimed Sir Tim Rice to its stage this month. Late April will see the revered lyricist appear as part of a live musical event entitled “My Life in Musicals – I Know Him So Well”.

At the upcoming event, the artist will reflect on what has been an illustrious career, working at the epicentre of the stage musical industry. He will share anecdotes about the songs he has penned words for, including both hits and misses, and tell tales about the live performances he was involved in.

There will also be musical accompaniment from a wide range of some of the leading artists from London’s West End, led by Duncan Waugh as Musical Director.

Sir Tim Rice is attributed with crafting words for the songs of many hit musicals, which include but are not limited to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar and Chess. He has also written lyrics for musical numbers in beloved Disney productions like The Lion King and Aladdin and for the title track of Octopussy, the 1983 Bond film starring Sir Roger Moore.

Sir Tim Rice will now appear in person at Storyhouse’s Main Theatre on Sunday, April 21. The show will start at 7.30 pm, and the arts centre can be found on Hunter Street in Chester.

The show is two and half hours long, and tickets are priced between £35.55 and £39.50.
