Sports fans from Chester and beyond will soon get an opportunity to meet one of Britain’s greatest boxers. The former super middleweight champion of the world Joe Calzaghe will be giving a live talk at the Chester Crowne Plaza Hotel in autumn.
October will find the Welsh professional boxer grace the stage of the Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) venue for a two-part unscripted interview, where he will reminisce about his glory years in the celebrated Super Middleweight era. Audience members at the event can expect tales from his life and career that were never caught on camera or covered in the press.
The evening will be compered by a professional host, and those attending will have access to a private bar area at the hotel and chances to win boxing-themed prizes to take home. Other features include a video showing the highlights of Calzaghe’s career, a special audience question and answer session and a live auction. There will also be an opportunity to purchase merchandise as a memento of the evening, but the event does not include a signing session with the former boxer.
The event is strictly for those over the age of 16’s and packages are priced between £55 to £200 per person.
An Evening with Joe Calzaghe will now take place at the Chester Crowne Plaza Hotel on October 26. The event will start at 7 pm and end at 11 pm and the hotel is situated on Trinity Street in Chester.
