Celebrated for her haunting vocals and songs that explore dark romance and glamour, Lana Del Rey is a beloved singer-songwriter. Now, the highly decorated American artist’s music will grace Grade-listed Chester Cathedral at a special concert lit by the glow of over a thousand candles.
Offering an enchanting environment to complement Del Rey’s often moody and melancholic music, the cathedral’s impressive acoustics will be put to good use. The summer production showcases the abilities of accomplished musicians and world-class singers and promises a setlist featuring some of the artist’s most popular songs. These will include, but aren’t limited to, “West Coast”, “Born to Die” “Summertime Sadness”, and “Art Deco”, “Cherry”, “Young and Beautiful” and her official debut single “Video Games”.
Del Rey released Video Games independently in 2011 and it later became the lead single on her break-out major label studio album, Born to Die, recorded just a year later.
The Music of Lana Del Rey by Candlelight will now be on stage in The Nave at Chester Cathedral on Saturday, June 13. The concert will commence at 7.30 pm. The cathedral can be found in the centre of Chester on St Werburgh Street, and tickets are offered at a variety of prices according to their view of the performance.
The upcoming event is joint organised by Concerts by Candlelight and Kinda Dusty. No drink or food from outside the venue maybe consumed inside and bag searches will be active on entry.
