Overlooking the Dee, Grosvenor Park in Chester is a much-loved greenspace in the heart of the city. This autumn, it will welcome a site-specific murder mystery show designed by experts in immersive theatre experiences, DBY Interactive.
Dubbed “Murder in the Park”, it was written by the same hand that penned sold-out shows “The Crown Duels” and “The City of Curses”, Becky Brooks.
The event is inspired by Chester’s rich history, which was used to create a site-specific show. Set back in the Victorian era, the murder mystery is set at the private opening of Grosvenor Park, and lets audiences become exclusive guests at the event.
Amidst a tale of two families, deceit, infidelities and revenge, the elegant and civilised event starts to unravel with an ugly turn. After a distinguished guest ends up dead, the gates to the park are locked so no one can escape. Those coming to the interactive performance must use their sleuthing skills to find out who the killer is before they can strike again.
Murder in the Park will now be held in Grosvenor Park on Tuesday, September 1. The event starts at 7.30 pm, and the park is situated in Grosvenor Park Road in the heart of Chester.
Tickets for the show are priced at £29 for non-members and £26.25 for members, and the performance is suited to theatre fans aged 12 and over. Those booking tickets also have the option to order food and drinks to enjoy with the show, including wine, wood-fired pizza, grazing boxes and more.
