Chester Hotel Hosts Western Holiday Hoedown

Arriving at the end of August, Oddfellows in Chester will present the “Bank Holiday Hoedown”, transforming its popular Secret Garden into the wild west.

A boutique hotel in the heart of the city, Oddfellows is Chester’s quirkiest accommodator. From its tearoom inspired by Alice in Wonderland to its smoking cocktails, the hotel prides itself on providing unusual experiences for its guests.

The western-inspired afternoon promises a wide range of country entertainment. Those coming down can engage in games and line dancing while sipping on cocktails and enjoying country music performed live. The outdoor garden will be decked out in themed décor especially for the occasion, and a special session of “Cowboy Bingo” will be running on the day, plus plenty of surprises.

Every hoedown ticket will include reserved seating and a themed welcome cocktail. There will be a western-themed photo booth for cowboys and cowgirls to snap mementos with their friends, and line dancing lessons that will get guests stepping skills up to speed. No experience is necessary to get involved, and questionable dancing is welcomed by the organisers.

The afternoon’s soundtrack will come courtesy of musician Rob Wheeler, who will bring his brand of country and western to the event, entirely designed for dancing and toe-tapping.

The Bank Holiday Hoedown will now run at Oddfellows on Sunday, August 30. The event is open from 2 pm and the hotel is simple to spot at 20 Lower Bridge Street in Chester. A limited number of tickets are available, priced at £20 per person.
