Chester Racecourse Welcome Back Fireworks Extravaganza

World-famous sporting ground and national attraction, Chester Racecourse recently announced it will once again be playing host to the Lord Mayor’s Fireworks Extravaganza. The upcoming spectacle will take place on Saturday, November 4 and is a seasonal favourite for residents and visitors of Chester alike.

The popular occasion is designed to raise money for several local charities, and is recognised as Chester’s most beloved annual fireworks event, attracting spectators in their thousands to the Roodee.

The fireworks night is presented by the partnership of Chester racecourse and the Lord Mayor and Cheshire West and Chester Council. The 2023 edition of the occasion will feature two separate firework displays, both of which have been carefully tailored to music. There will also be a short, quiet display which lasts six minutes, roaming artists entertaining, a funfair and a live DJ playing popular music.

Commenting on the event, Lord Mayor of Chester, Cllr Sheila Little, said that the council was pleased to sponsor and support the fireworks display taking place at Chester Racecourse, which offered a safe environment for people to enjoy the festivities. Discussing its charitable aims, she added:

“This not-for-profit event sees the proceeds donated to local charities, including the Lord Mayor’s Charity Fund, which this year is supporting Blacon Beacon (Pantry for Blacon), Crossroads Community Hub, and Soul Kitchen.”

The Lord Mayor’s Fireworks Night has sold out in previous years during advance ticket sales. As a result, those who wish to attend are advised to secure their ticket for the night early.
