Chester Races to Welcome Music Legends

Known for its summer spectaculars, Chester Racecourse is cranking up the heat this season with a special concert. The world’s oldest active racing venue is inviting two iconic acts to its stage, Welsh singer extraordinaire Tom Jones and disco funk all-stars Nile Rodgers & CHIC for an unforgettable outdoor show.

The night of live music promises era-defining tracks sourced from multiple decades of the artist’s recordings. Regarded as one of Britain’s greatest vocalists. Tom Jones is a legendary performer who has sold more than 100 million records and racked up 36 hits in the Top 40 Chart and countless awards including multiple Grammys and the coveted Music Industry Trust Award. Playing live for more than 60 years, he continues to enthral audiences around the world.

The influence of Nile Rodgers cannot be understated. The Co-founder of funk sensation CHIC, his songs have defined a generation. Over his extensive career he has worked with some of the biggest names in the music business including David Bowie, Daft Punk, Madonna, Pharrell and Diana Ross, among many others. Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame back in 2017, Rodgers also won a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and remains a driving force in the music industry.

Tom Jones and Nile Rodgers & CHIC will perform live at Chester Racecourse on Friday, August 14. After a DJ warms up the audience, Rodgers will be on stage from 6.30 pm to 8 pm, with Jones on from 8.45 pm to 10.45 pm. The racing venue is sited in central Chester on New Crane Street.
