Chester to Enjoy South Carolina Sounds

Chester’s champion of national and international acts alike, celebrated city venue The Live Rooms, has announced it will soon welcome an American artist to its stage. Spring will see South Carolina’s Hannah Wicklund perform a single-night-show at the Chester hotspot to highlight her latest material to residents and visitors to the city.

Originally playing retro rock as Hannah Wicklund and the Steppin’ Stones, the gifted singer and guitarist has taken a more personal detour recently in her musical career. Her 2024 album entitled “The Prize” features able backing from Greta Van Fleet’s Danny Wagner on drums and Sam Kiszka on bass, organ and keyboards, though the intimate songs are unique to her.

Those attending the upcoming concert at the Live Rooms will get a chance to hear Wicklund perform numbers from the new release which may include “Can’t Get Enough”, “Dark Passenger”, “Song Bird Sing” and “Hell In The Hallway”, the album’s melodic opener. Tracks sourced from her extensive songbook are also likely to be heard.

Supporting Wicklund on the night will be Hunny Buzz, an upcoming indie pop band from Bristol.

Hannah Wicklund can now be seen in room L1 of the Live Rooms on Friday, May 24. The concert will kick off at 8 pm, and the venue can be found on Station Road in Chester. The Live Rooms has an 11 pm curfew, and tickets for the show are available priced between £15 and £18.

Admission is available to those aged 14 and over.
