Chester to Hear English Indie

From classic comedy to tribute acts, The Live Rooms in Chester is a hive for entertainment. Now, the buzzing city hub has announced it will be presenting the Inspiral Carpets in May for an offshoot gig of their upcoming festival appearances in the area.

A crucial component of the late 80s Madchester movement, the Inspiral Carpets were founded in the Pennines town of Oldham in Greater Manchester. Their smash hit singles saw them accrue a considerable following in their region, across the UK and overseas. Last year, the band toured Australia after a three-decade hiatus and made their debut in New Zealand.

They also toured extensively in the UK, and released a companion compilation album packed with their best-loved tracks and remixes sourced from the period 1988 to 2015.

Fans of the band attending the spring gig in Chester will get a chance to hear a set-list loaded with classic tracks from the Inspiral Carpets songbook which may include hits like “She Comes in the Fall”, “Two Worlds Collide”, “Dragging Me Down”, “This is How it Feels” and “Saturn 5” among many others.

The Inspiral Carpets will be on stage at The Live Rooms on Saturday, May 25. The popular events hub can be found on Station Road in Chester, and the concert will kick off at 7 pm.

The band will enjoy strong support from 60s-inspired Wigan four-piece Stanleys on the night. Tickets bought in advance are available for £27.50, or can be bought for £30.50 on the door.
