Chester to Hear Soul Music by Candlelight

This autumn, Chester Cathedral will welcome back ‘Whitney Houston by Candlelight’, a show that previously proved successful, for two consecutive nights.

A listed landmark, the cathedral is an active place of worship in the heart of the city. However, it is also a well-attended events venue offering art exhibitions and entertainment. Among the cathedral’s ongoing programmes are the popular candlelit concerts it hosts, which take full advantage of its impressive acoustics and stately interior.

The upcoming concerts will feature accomplished vocalist Kiesha Chun, who will sing Houston’s greatest hits for fans. Audience members can expect to hear soulful R&B songs such as ‘Saving All My Love for You’, ‘I Have Nothing’, ‘I Will Always Love You’, ‘My Love Is Your Love’, ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody’, ‘How Will I Know’ and ‘Greatest Love of All’, among many others.

Chun’s shows encourage ticketholders to dance and sing along as she performs, and she will be backed by the Million Dollar Band on both evenings.

Whitney Houston by Candlelight will now be held at Chester Cathedral on Thursday 19 November and Friday 20 November. Doors will open at 6.45 pm, and both shows will start at 7.30 pm. Tickets are available at a range of prices according to the view of the stage. These include Band C tickets for £30 and VIP admission for £50.

The cathedral is easy to find on St Werburgh Street in Chester city centre, and a licensed bar will be open during the event.
