A concert called “An Evening of Kate Bush” is coming to Chester Cathedral later this year. Organised by Let Me In, the one-night show is part of the UK Cathedral Tour Collection and will arrive in the city in autumn.
The event will allow an audience of avid fans to appreciate Bush’s evocative music, performed within the cathedral’s ethereal interior by a full 10-piece live band accompanied by a string quartet and multiple vocalists.
The show comes from the same minds behind the sold-out runs of “An Evening of Radiohead” and “An Evening of Pink Floyd” and will once again feature the esteemed Mike Nowland String Quartet.
Taking a chronological approach, the performance begins with classic music from Bush’s innovative debut, “The Kick Inside”, and closes with tracks from her award-winning comeback release, “Aerial”. During the journey, audience members will be treated to classic tracks, hidden gems and rarities. As such, those booking tickets for the evening will hear “Wuthering Heights”, “Running Up That Hill”, “Cloudbusting” and the entirety of “The Ninth Wave” suite from the studio album “Hounds of Love”.
The lead vocalist for the night is Lydia Gardiner, and the show features musical direction from Ewan Steady.
An Evening of Kate Bush will now take place at Chester Cathedral on Saturday 3 October. The concert will start at 7.30 pm and finish at 10.30 pm. The cathedral is situated on Saint Werburgh Street. General admission for the event is priced at £46.97 per person.
