Chester Hotel to Host Enchanted Dining Experience

Fans of spellcasting, storytelling, unforgettable food and games won’t want to miss an event running at Oddfellows. The hotel in the heart of Chester is holding an interactive experience called the “Curious Wizards Feast” in autumn that lets guests eat and compete in equal measure.

Ahead of the event, all who book will receive a personalised acceptance letter by post from the Wizarding School. The evening then gets underway with diners welcomed by the event’s “Curious Keeper”, who sorts attendees into designated wizarding houses in a special ceremony and provides them with magical instructions. What ensues is an immersive encounter filled with challenges, games and puzzles to play and solve to see which house comes out on top.

These activities punctuate a multi-course feast fashioned around a magical theme. Every challenge unlocks a specific course. A drink starts the games, with a Buttery Brew topped with edible glitter and foam available as a fruit cocktail, with toffee and vanilla vodkas, or as a mocktail made with juice. The four courses are titled “Popping Black Rock”, “Francis the Pet in a Shell”, “Potters Lamb” and “Golden Snitch Cheesecake”, followed by Jelly Belly petit fours to finish.

The event concludes with the winning house being crowned champions at the Keeper’s prize-giving, where each guest gets a “Wizard’s Goodie Bag” to remember their adventure by.

The Curious Wizards Feast will run at Oddfellows on Friday, 25 September. The event commences at 6.30 pm, and the hotel is based at 20 Lower Bridge Street in Chester, a short walk from the River Dee.
