Storyhouse in Chester is set to present a run of a world-famous work by English dramatist, composer and lyricist Willy Russell.
Entitled “Blood Brothers”, the legendary production tells a moving and captivating story about twins who, after being separated at birth, are raised on very different sides of the tracks. When they meet again, the encounter has fateful consequences.
Celebrated for other well-known titles such as “Shirley Valentine” and “Educating Rita”, Russell and his creations continue to command the respect of arts critics and theatre lovers alike. A winner of multiple awards, Blood Brothers ran for more than 10,000 performances in the West End, London’s lauded theatre district. It was so successful that audiences frequently stood up and cheered, earning it the nickname “the Standing Ovation Musical”.
The production arriving in Chester is presented by Bill Kenwright Ltd. At two hours and 50 minutes long, each performance will include an interval during which theatregoers can enjoy refreshments at the venue’s Garret Bar, which has lift access.
Those booking seats for the show will be treated to a musical score featuring numbers such as “Marilyn Monroe”, “Bright New Day” and the emotionally charged “Tell Me It’s Not True”.
Blood Brothers will be on stage in the Main Theatre at Storyhouse from Tuesday 13 October to Saturday 17 October. The arts centre is situated on Hunter Street in central Chester.
Tickets for the event range from £24.75 to £47.25 for members and from £27.50 to £54.50 for non-members. The production is recommended for those aged 12 and over.
