Fresh Wine Tasting Round Arrives in Chester

A shop and bar, Vin Santo’s celebrated cellar location is a coveted haunt for wine enthusiasts in the city.

As part of its business, it holds expert-led tasting sessions that allow wine lovers to take a deep dive into their favourite tipple. These popular events quickly sell out, but a new wave of tastings are now ready to book.

On July 23, a “Wine and Cheese Tasting” is taking place. A staple of the bar’s tasting itinerary, the returning event offers guests a chance to sip six sumptuous wines served alongside carefully selected cheeses that complement their flavours. The three-hour experience is priced at just £30 per person.

August 6 brings bubbles to the bar with a “Fizz Tasting” for the same price of admission. Vin Santo invites guests to enjoy some summer fun as it celebrates fizzy favourites from across the globe that include English sparkling and the party essential, Champagne.

Last, but not least “Wines of the Ancient World” will be held on August 20. Combining wine history with tasting, this immersive event is hosted by wine professional Andy Leathley from Hallgarten Wines and boasts modern descendants from Croatia, Georgia, Greece and beyond.

Historical evidence shows winemaking began 8000 years ago. Long before the Italians and French fermented grape juice, wine played a key role in Armenia, Cyprus, Greece, and Georgia, its birthplace.

All the tastings start at 7 pm and end at 10 pm and Vin Santo is situated at 21 Watergate Street in Chester.
