Food & Drink Week launches in Chester

Some of Chester’s most popular eateries and bars have joined forces with CH1ChesterBID to launch the city’s first ever Food & Drink Week

Taking place from 12th – 20th January, the first ever CH1 Chester Food & Drink Week is offering Cestrians and visitors to the city a range of discounts and special offers to help celebrate the new year.

CH1ChesterBID has organised for over 20 restaurants, pubs and cafes to participate across the week and tempt diners through their doors with bargain set price menus and happy hours.

Judy Tagell, Marketing Manager at CH1ChesterBID, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with some of the city centre’s best-loved bars and restaurants to launch CH1 Chester Food & Drink Week this January

“The start of the year can often be a quiet time for the high street, but we’re determined that won’t be the case in Chester because we know people are still keen to get out and about to beat the January blues.

“That’s why campaigns, such as Food & Drink Week are so important – they allow visitors to the city to try a new cuisine, take the family out for a meal that won’t break the bank or grab a quick bite to eat on-the-go.”

Kristie Palmer, Assistant General Manager, at Opera Grill, which is taking part in the scheme and offering 50% back on all food spend across the week, said: “Chester has so much to offer as a city and its food and drink scene is truly world class. There’s a massive variety of cuisines to sample with food from all cultures and countries.

“For our team at Opera Grill, CH1 Chester Food & Drink Week provides a great chance to welcome new customers and also reward our existing clientele with offers and discounts.”

Popular eateries including Veeno, Burger Shed 41, Jack Burrito, The Chef’s Table and Bollicini are part of the week-long event and will be offering everything from lunchtime offers and happy hours to exclusive promotions and sharing deals.

Other venues including The Alchemist and Beer Heroes are running events, such as cocktail masterclasses and beer tasting experiences across the week, alongside food and drink discounts.

“It’s great to see so many of the city’s businesses coming together to better the overall food and drink offering and attract visitors to the city centre. Our new site at 128 Northgate Street is an entirely plant-based and environmentally conscious restaurant, and I feel it’ll have a great impact on the community” said Patrick White, Director at Jaunty Goat.

“Food & Drink Week is just what’s needed to boost the restaurants, bars and cafes in Chester, so we’re looking forward to seeing how it’s received by Cestrians.”
