Commonhall Street Social
Situated in the City Centre, Commonhall St Social is a hidden gem down one of Chester’s side streets. Serving wholesome, honest food including the famous Commonhall Cheese Burger and an interesting drinks selection, including craft beers from small and artisan breweries. Their sun trap out back is the place to be when the sun shines and the chilled out atmosphere and comfortable surroundings, will make you not want to leave! Originally an old mill, the bar has a hidden room upstairs that is available for parties, get-togethers and any night of the week that you’re looking to celebrate. On Sundays the bar offer free dinners for four-legged, furry pups when their parents enjoy a roast.
Ring O’Bells
The Ring O’ Bells is a warm welcoming pub, set in the heart of the charming Cheshire village of Christleton. Combining upscale dining with the finest wines and beers. The White Horse
The White Horse is set in the centre of the Chester Racecourse grounds, where you can enjoy the vista across the racecourse and famous city walls as as you tuck in to a Welsh ground beef burger on National Burger Day..
Always a popular choice, the outdoor barbecue area and Pirate Ship playground, is perfect for summer evenings and weekends, whether enjoying traditional beers, familiar wines and quirky minerals in the open air or dining and enjoying aromas from our wood burning charcoal grill and stone pizza oven. Children can even make their own pizzas at their table, which are sent straight to the pizza oven.
With nibbles, sandwiches and lighter bites on the menu, daytimes are popular in The White Horse, so too are coffees and catch ups with friends. Brasserie ABode
A relaxed and glamorous all day venue, offering an eclectic interior with a modern vibe, this spacious grand brasserie and late-night bar features electric blue velvet seating, tables laid with silver tableware and sleek white cloths and stunning views of the racecourse and countryside beyond.
Offering great value, all day dining, including the delicious Brasserie Burger, the menu is crammed with popular favourites cooked from the freshest of ingredients. The Pheasant Inn
Tucked in a peaceful corner of rural Cheshire, yet sitting high atop the Peckforton Hills, The Pheasant enjoys some of the most magnificent panoramic views in the area stretching across the Cheshire plain to the Welsh hills. BarLounge
BarLounge has been a Chester institution for almost 20 years and was the first bar of its kind in the city, bringing a unique mix of classic cocktails, superb British food and extraordinary service. On National Burger Day choose from the Steak Burger or KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) burger.
Nestled close to the rows on Watergate Street, it’s perfectly positioned for a quick pit-stop to enjoy a sharing board after shopping or sightseeing. Whatever the weather, the iconic terrace is always busy and is the place to be on race days. If you want to extend your evening, particularly at the weekend, the atmosphere changes from relaxed bistro to the place to party.
Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, catch up with friends and enjoy freshly prepared food from the extensive menu and on Sundays enjoy a classic BarLounge Sunday roast with a glass of wine.
Burger Shed 41
You’ll be spoiled for choice here!
Burger Shed 41 is a US-inspired UK-take on a New York Burger Bar with an industrial upcycled interior, located in the heart of Chester on Bridge Street.
All burgers are locally sourced brisket and skirt from David Joinson Master Butchers and served in Wallis the Baker Brioche Buns. Burger Shed 41 are renowned locally for their selection of burgers, from the Classic Cheeseburger to the Hot and Spicy Shed Burger & there is always a burger of the week available.
If you fancy something a little different then try one of the Hot Dogs, German Imported Kurz and Lang Frankfurters. There are plenty of sides to accompany your burger or dog, with the chilli cheese fries or burnt end brisket balls being popular choices.
With a varied drinks list, there are fabulous Shakes (hard & soft), Floats, craft beers & wines to accompany your meal. Burger Shed 41 is a full-service restaurant, however, takeaway is available & delivery through Deliveroo. If you are looking for a bargain Burger Shed 41 has plenty to offer; every weekday lunchtime you can get a Shed Burger for Cheeseburger for only £5, Mondays are Dog Day Mondays (hot dog & a side for £9), Wednesdays are 2 for 1 Burger Day & Thursdays you can get chicken wings with dips & a can of beer for £6.
All in all, Burger Shed 41 is a must visit when you are in Chester!
The Alchemist
Although cocktails are the beverage of choice at The Alchemist, a delicious selection of burgers can be found on the menu, including a cajun halloumi burger.
Chester, founded as a Roman Fortress and rich in all the mystery and mythology that goes with it, just had to be the perfect location for The Alchemist’s very special brand of molecular mixology and devilishly delicious menus. In fact, there couldn’t be a better place for the 10th Alchemist venue.
So prepare to be bedazzled by The Alchemist in Chester. Right where the mighty Roman Centurions once trained for battle and the less fortunate are rumoured to have reluctantly taken their chances with some rather peckish lions. But don’t worry, they rarely carry on with those traditions.
Olive Tree Brasserie
National Burger Day with an Olive Tree burger Greek style!
Delivering traditional Greek cuisine and mouthwatering Mediterranean dishes, the Olive Tree Brasserie is located on the historic Chester Rows.
