Storyhouse Announces Full Casting for Alfresco Theatre

Earlier this year, Chester’s buzzing arts hub revealed that the popular programme “Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre” would return for summer 2026.

Now, the event’s organisers have released fresh news with the unveiling of cast members confirmed to appear in the upcoming productions.

The season will start with “Outlaws: A Robin Hood Story” followed by “Let The Sun Shine!”, “Peter Pan” and, finally, “Nell Gwynn” to close the multi-date event.

Actor David Ahmad will take on the role of wicked King John in Outlaws, alongside Lucas Button as fellow villain The Sherriff of Nottingham. For the heroes, Lawrence Hodgson-Mullings is Robin Hood, with Annabelle Aquino as Marian. Members of the cast will also perform in Let The Sun Shine!

In the Peter Pan walkabout show, Thom Hallows is Peter Pan, with Lydia Rose Morales Scully playing the part of Wendy. Hannah Rose Curtis is Tinkerbell the fairy, and Alexander McGonagle plays the split role of Wendy’s dad and the dastardly Captain Hook. He is also the production’s director.

As previously announced, Rose Shalloo will play the title role in Nell Gwynn.

The returning festival will once again welcome the popular tepee bar, which will offer an even wider variety of food options, plus frozen cocktails and craft beers. The season will launch with a Street Food Weekend that grants free admission and features live musical entertainment.

The 2026 season of Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre runs from Saturday, June 27 to Sunday, September 6. Storyhouse is situated on Hunter Street, while Grosvenor Park can be found on Grosvenor Park Road in the heart of Chester.
