Storyhouse in the Park to launch with Street Food Weekend

Chester’s beloved arts programme Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre is returning this summer promising outdoor performances, live music and family fun.

To kick off the event, organiser Storyhouse is presenting a two-day event called “Street Food Weekend” that celebrates the city’s vibrant culinary scene.

Visitors to Chester and native Cestrians are invited to come down and immerse themselves in summertime ambience. In the enchanting environment of Storyhouse’s open-air festival site, top Chester businesses will be serving up tantalising treats representing a wide range of cuisine.

Fruits of the sea from hand-selected local suppliers will be on offer at the Sandbar Seafood Shack while Nice Bites, Guroma and Sandwich’d, favourites from Chester Market, will also be on site. Nice Bites is known for its American-style hot dogs, burgers and sides, while Guroma makes mouth-watering Bangladeshi street food.

Delivering a menu blending Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavours, Maray of Northgate Street will be participating for the first time, while Fika, a café by Chester city walls, will provide plant-based plates for vegans and vegetarians.

Other participants include Chinese cuisine from Chows Street Food, Parkgate Fish & Chips, the Kitchen at Storyhouse and award-winning beer and cider makers That Beer Place and more.

Street Food Weekend will now take place on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28 in Grosvenor Park. Easy to find, the much-loved public greenspace is situated on Grosvenor Park Road in the centre of Chester.

Entry to the event is free for all.
