Sometimes called boot fairs, car boot sales are lively open-air markets where people sell unwanted items from their household, often out of the back of their cars, but sometimes on stalls, stands and tables.
Car boot sales in Chester can benefit homeowners looking to declutter their houses while making money but are also ideal for local makers selling products they create. An event suited to all members of the community and city visitors, boot sales usually offer something for all tastes and ages. Here, we look at some events held in and around Chester.
Chester Giant Car Boot Sale
Taking place on Sealand Road in Chester (next door to Dandy’s topsoil and landscape supplier) The Chester Giant Car Boot Sale is launching on Sunday, May 25 and will run every Sunday afterwards during the year. The event will feature a range of products including books, toys and furniture and buyers enjoy free entry. Gates open for sellers at 5 am and buyers at 6 am.
Hospice of the Good Shepherd car boot sale
A registered Chester Charity, the hospice provides palliative care and relies heavily on fundraising. Throughout this year, it is holding car boot sales to raise money on the final Sunday of each month. The events take place at leading wholesale provider Booker in the car park, based on the Dunkirk Estate and buyers enjoy entry for just £1. Toilets and refreshments will be available on site.
Chirk Giant Car Boot Sale
Less than half an hour away from Chester in the heart of Wrexham, the Chirk Giant car Boot Sale is a weekly event, weather permitting. Every Sunday, the popular boot sale assembles fans of vintage goods, bargain hunters and casual browsers in one place and presents them with a wide range of pre-loved products to purchase. Gates to the event open at 5 am.
