Celebrated British performer and playwright Bryony Kimmings is appearing at Storyhouse in Chester this summer.
The city’s revered arts centre is welcoming the multi-talented artist to its theatre stage to perform her new autobiographical show for a live audience. Entitled “Bog Witch”, it tells one of Kimmings’ real-life stories, and the performance in Chester is part of massive tour that includes dates across Ireland and the UK.
The theatrical odyssey arrives after a critically acclaimed run in the capital and a nomination for innovation at the 2026 OffWestEnd Awards.
Combining her trademark blend of “heart with humour”, the theatre legend will put on a performance that includes, skilful storytelling, epic songs, mystical projections, and exceptional sound. The show centres on Kimmings’ personal journey as she upends her and her boy’s life to dwell in a cottage in a state of disrepair, living in the wilderness in a last-minute attempt to find happiness and sanity through reconnecting with natue.
An associate artist for the respected Soho Theatre, Kimmings has penned numerous performance art shows and two plays. She has also written for the screen with Emma Thompson, providing the script for “Last Christmas”, a romantic comedy inspired by the Wham! pop song of the same name.
Bryony Kimmings will perform Bog Witch at Storyhouse on Wednesday, July 29 and Thursday, July 30. The arts hub can be found on Hunter Street, and tickets are available to buy with prices starting at £30.30 for members of Storyhouse.
