Respected conservationist Chester Zoo is presenting a show that combines excitement with education.
Timed for the May half term, the family-friendly experience is called “Steve Backshall Live” and lets audiences join the award-winning wildlife presenter as he dives headfirst into the world of sharks.
Zoo visitors coming down to the brand-new show can take a breathtaking journey to discover some of the most misunderstood and incredible predators on the planet. Backshall will roll back the clock to the earliest times when sharks first swam the Earth’s shores, examining their original appearance and evolution that led them to become the extraordinary species we now know.
Insights will be offered on biology, anatomy and predatory actions with shark species like the Great White, Tiger, Whale, Wobbegong and Basking discussed. The show features historic footage, shark replicas and the real jaws and teeth of sharks.
Backshall will also regale audiences with his own real-life shark encounters, while letting them ask questions about their favourite species and receive expert answers. A must-see event for fans of wildlife, adventure and species that survive and thrive in the deep, the show is loaded with surprising facts and tales.
Steve Backshall Live will now run at Chester Zoo from Saturday, May 23 to Sunday, May 31. The zoo can be found just outside the city walls in Upton-By-Chester. Tickets for the show are £5 and do not include zoo admission.
Shows run at a range of times including 11.30 am, 1 pm, 2.30 pm, and 4 pm.
