Multipurpose Chester events venue Storyhouse features a library, cinema, theatre and modern restaurant, making it an important hub for the community. Well-known for the plays and films it presents, January will see the key venue offer a different type of entertainment. Those seeking to start 2024 with a laugh won’t want to miss Hayley Ellis’s appearance as she brings her new show to Storyhouse entitled “Hayley’s Comic”.
The down-to-earth comedian’s regional charm is renowned. When visiting her website, you’ll immediately encounter a page called “Hiya”, which reminds you to take your shoes off before you enter her site as she’s just had her carpets done and her mum will be mad should mud be brought in, giving guests a small taste of her unique comedy style.
The hit comedian’s new show follows hot on the heels of her runaway success of 2022 “The Invisible Mam”, which enjoyed sold-out performances across the country. Ellis’s latest show incorporates everything her fans have come to expect including audience interactions, smart observational comedy and plenty of silly stories.
Topics covered in Hayley’s Comic are diverse and range from dinosaurs and holidays with the family to trying to find body confidence as we get older.
Hayley Ellis will now be on stage at Storyhouse’s Garret Theatre on Friday, January 19. The events venue can be found on Hunter Street in Chester and the show, which is an hour and 50 minutes long, will start at 8pm and includes an interval. Tickets are priced at £12.15 for members and £13.50 for non-members.
