Power Pop Tribute to Play Chester

Blondie fans in Chester are in for a potential thrill this year. Described as the world’s number one official tribute to the band famously fronted by Debbie Harry, Bootleg Blondie have earned an international reputation for excellence and authenticity. Now, the acclaimed tribute act is set to play Alexander’s Live in the city on the spookiest day of the year, Halloween.

Bootleg Blondie is led by Debbie Harris on lead vocals. A skilled singer, she brings the looks, attitude and voice of Harry to the show and was selected from 15,000 potential candidates to represent the artist on the BBC One programme “Even Better Than the Real Thing”.

Known for her outrageous performances, Harris accurately depicts Harry’s on-stage wardrobe and plays her much-loved guitar, which has been signed by each member of Blondie.

With an impressive pedigree, the tribute band has performed with two of Blondie’s original musicians, drummer Clem Burke and bassist Gary Valentine, and was thanked in the sleeve notes of the album “Pollinator”.

Those attending the Halloween show can hear classic Blondie hits such as “Heart of Glass”, “Call Me”, “Atomic” and “One Way or Another”.

Bootleg Blondie will play a set at Alexander’s Live in Chester on Saturday, 31 October. The venue is located in Rufus Court, a hidden courtyard off Northgate Street, just a two-minute walk from the city centre.

The gig has standing-only tickets priced at £20.80 per person, and admission is restricted to those aged 18 and over.
