A multi-talented comic, Matt Forde is a satirist, writer and presenter, best known for his uncanny impressions of well-known politicians. Now, the leading comedian is coming to Chester as part of his biggest live tour yet.
Spring will see the city’s home of the arts, Storyhouse, play host to Forde and his brand-new show called “Defying Calamity”. On stage, the comedian will share with the audience how he manages to still find positivity in life, regardless of all the contradictory evidence regarding his own health and the world of politics.
The son of a former nun, the successful comedian left a political career to become a broadcaster and comedian. Over the years, he has lent his talent to several shows like The Royal Variety Performance, British Scandal, Have I Got News For You and political puppet show Spitting Image, where he famously voiced national leaders like Keir Stamer, Boris Johnson and Donald Trump.
Forde’s live shows have received high praise. He has been awarded five-star reviews from the Daily Telegraph and the Mail on Sunday, while The Guardian called him a first-class comic.
Matt Forde: Defying Calamity will now be live on stage at Storyhouse on Friday, May 1. The Chester arts hub is based in the city centre of Hunter Street, and the show will start at 7.30 pm.
The show is close to two hours in length and includes an interval. Admission is only available to those aged 16 and over due to adult content, and tickets are priced at £29.50 per person including a booking fee.
