Three Places to Meet Father Christmas in Chester

No festive season would be complete without meeting Father Christmas and Chester offers many opportunities. Appealing to those of all ages, the sight of St Nicholas in his red suit is a heartwarming sight that rekindles childhood memories, but for little ones it offers a chance to share their Christmas wishes for gifts left beneath the trees. While you’ll find Santas in shopping centres and stately homes across Chester, below you’ll find three unique ways to encounter the big guy in red.

Grosvenor Park

A free family-friendly attraction and hub for the community, Grosvenor Park has a unique feature making it standout from other green spaces in the city. In 1996, it launched the Grosvenor Park Miniature Railway and for the festive season, Father Christmas visits every weekend throughout December between 11 am and 4 pm. No booking is necessary, and for just £5 guests can ride the railway and get a gift from Santa.

The Ice Cream Farm

Situated in the beautiful countryside just outside of Chester, The Ice Cream is offering a special bottomless breakfast with Father Christmas on the weekends of December 16 & 17, as well as December 23 & 24. Guests can enjoy a cooked breakfast and bottomless drinks for an hour at the farm, with plenty of opportunity to snap a picture with Santa as he makes his way around the room.

ChesterBoat

Finally, to enjoy scenic views with Santa, ChesterBoat can’t be beat. On selected weekends through December, guests can meet and sail the Dee with Father Christmas on board the Lady Diana, which will be decked with tinsel and fairy lights for the festive season. Tickets include gingerbread men, mince pies, mulled wine, sweeties and a special present from Santa.
