Chester Wine Bar Hosts Beginners Guide

Chester is a hotspot for wine lovers with hotel bars, restaurants, clubs and pubs selling an excellent selection.

It also has many shops run by experts in fine wine where guests to the city and those who call it home can pick up bottles for personal enjoyment and entertaining at home. Offering the best of both worlds, Vin Santo in Chester is both a wine merchant and bar.

In February, Simon Parkinson, one of Vin Santo’s owners, is offering an intriguing opportunity for those with a love of wine who would like to earn more. Within the enchanting surrounds of cellar bar that dates back to 13th century, Parkinson will provide an informal and relaxed introduction for people new to wine tasting.

Simply titled “A Beginner’s Guide to Wine Tasting”, the special event is taking place on Wednesday, February 5 between 7 pm and 10 pm. The tasting will see Vin Santo’s owner guide guests through six different classic wine styles and explain how they can optimise their enjoyment and appreciation of their much-loved tipple.

The event is just £35 per guest, and the wine bar is based on Watergate Street. For those who can’t wait to take part in the tasting in February, Vin Santo has earlier events focused on wine and cheese taking place on Wednesday, January 15 and Wednesday, January 22. For just £30 a head, attendees can sample six wines paired perfectly with six stunning cheeses. Those wishing to participate in the popular events are advised to book without delay.
