Chester Wine Bar to Host Tempting Tastings

Tucked away in crypted cellars dating to the 13th century, the Vin Santo wine shop and bar is the brainchild of four friends devoted to fine wine.

However, at its historic address in the heart of Chester, its owners share their passion with special tastings. Spots are limited at these intimate events and sell out swiftly, but below are three upcoming occasions planned for the coming weeks.

Rum Tasting with Planteray Rum

Identity Drinks’ David Alonso will be leading this tasting on June 26 and unfolding the unforgettable tale of Planteray Rum (originally known as Plantation Rum), which started in the Caribbean islands and ended in Maison Ferrand’s cellars in Cognac, France.

Guests will enjoy six different rums including dark, white, spiced, fruity, old and something special. Sam, Vin Santo’s resident Bar Manager, will also mix a couple of rum cocktails.

Wines of South America

This July 3 event has only 25 tickets available, and offers a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with six outstanding wines from the varied continent of South America.

A celebration of vibrant flavours, this event is ideal for seasoned sommeliers and curious beginners alike seeking to explore the distinctive attributes of South American wine.

Rosé Around the World

Perfectly timed for summer, July 17 will see Vin Santo present six exceptional rosé wines.

Delivered as an immersive and personalised experience, the tasting event is designed for those who enjoy evenings filled with indulgence and camaraderie. Providing an educational opportunity, guests can also access original tasting notes by region.

Vin Santo can be found at 21 Watergate Street in Chester.
