Gourmands and epicures visiting or staying in Chester for New Year’s Eve can attend an exciting event taking place at The Forge.
Praised for its passion for locally sourced, sustainable and often wild ingredients gathered from as near to Chester as possible, the city restaurant has now unveiled a special tasting menu for the last evening of the year.
The Forge invites those with a passion for food to join its staff as it bids a fond farewell to 2024 with a premier culinary experience like no other. On arrival, guests attending will be treated to a complimentary glass of fizz before sitting down to savour a seven-dish tasting menu made with the finest wild and sustainable ingredients within the eatery’s elegant surrounds.
The tasting kicks off with The Forge’s house focaccia served with whipped miso butter followed by beef broth and mushroom tart. The next stage of the tasting assembles cod from Scotland with pearl onion, dashi and leek before a maple-cured porkchop is served with horseradish, turnip, kale and miso. Venison loin is next accompanied by date, juniper and parsnip followed by traditional Brie-de-Meaux cheese Baron Bigod with walnut ketchup, charcoal and fresh honeycomb. The final tasting plate features Granny Smith Apple, sorrel, oats and vanilla.
The New Year’s Eve Tasting event will now be held on Tuesday, December 31 at The Forge. The restaurant can be found on Grosvenor Park Road in Chester. The price of attending the incomparable experience is £100 per person.
