An all-new state-of-the-art event will launch at Chester Zoo this autumn.
The home of more than 37,000 animals beyond the city’s Roman walls is presenting a special attraction called the “BEASTS” experience. It will take zoo explorers on an immersive digital journey for a 360° encounter featuring m untamed legendary creatures from the imagination of young age author Jess French.
Inspired by her fantasy book series entitled “Beastlands” published by Bonnier Books, the attraction is designed to offer an utterly personalised storytelling experience where mythical animals come to life along the way. The autumn adventure is set before French’s Beastlands novels and transports zoo visitors to a world where mighty beasts dwell via a cleverly designed visual experience that includes fully immersive projections. Thaddea, the story’s fearless protagonist, will lead the way.
Fans of the Beastlands trilogy will also get a chance to meet French on Thursday, October 31. The author will be at the gift shop located at Chester Zoo’s main entrance from 10 am. As well as being a talented writer, French is also a qualified veterinary surgeon and a familiar face presenting on Children’s television. She will be reading an excerpt from Beastlands, and zoo visitors can get their book signed afterwards.
The BEASTS experience is included free with standard admission to the zoo, and families can save up to 20% on gate price if they book their tickets online. Chester Zoo can be found in Upton-by-Chester just 11 minutes’ drive from the city centre.
