Suburbs, the independent cocktail bar and grazing spot in the heart of Hoole is turning five years old in December.

Neatly nestled just a skip and a hop away from the city centre, the suburban quirky neighbourhood bar and eaterie have been serving its fiercely loyal locals and explorers from further afield with award-winning cocktails, fine wines and beers alongside grazing platters and great, locally sourced food dishes for exactly five years on 6th December. To commemorate this milestone the Suburbs are throwing the mother of all birthday bashes.

Kingdom Thenga, the owner of the suburban joint, said: “You know the saying by Nelson Mandela, ‘it always seems impossible until it’s done’? Well, it’s our company motto and that certainly applies here! Who’da thunk it. We’re so proud to have been a part of the vibrant fabric of Hoole and of Chester bar scene for five years – and we look forward to serving great drink, great food and giving great service at least five more!”

The Suburbs started as a swanky metropolitan-style cocktail bar five years ago, and during its time in Hoole it has grown from a small drinks venue to twice the size, including the eaterie that uses hyper-local produce from the Hoole high street and a hidden top-floor bar for groups wanting a more private experience.

“We are so humbled and grateful for the community for embracing us and for their continued support. Our success is solely down to our fantastic guests, and we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to them by throwing a big birthday bash! We’d like to invite everyone to come and raise a glass with us.” Mr Thenga said.

By a way of giving back to the community for their continued support, the Suburbs have over the five past years been involved in fundraising for local causes and have played a key part in many community initiatives.

The celebrations kick off at 5 pm on Thursday 6th December with doors opening for local businesses and the party will officially start at 6 PM, continuing until the small hours of midnight.
