Chester Hotel to Host Halloween Tea

Based in Chester’s historic heart, Oddfellows is a hotel providing quirky, characterful stays and experiences. This autumn, the unusual accommodator is laying the table for a tea designed to celebrate the spooky season.

Fittingly titled the “Halloween Afternoon Tea”, the event will be offered all October in its atmospheric tearoom “Alice’s Parlour”. For the price of £15 for children and £35 for adults, an indulgent experience can be enjoyed that mixes the whimsical with the wickedly wonderful.

A magical feast filled with spooky surprises, the tea has treats for fans of both sweet and savoury delights. A selection of “Sinister Sandwiches” will grace plates with sumptuous flavours like smoked salmon with crème fraiche and capers, cream cheese with roast red pepper and classic combinations like cheese and pickle. There will also be French fries and breaded nibbles like brie for vegetarians, and ham hock with smoked cheese for meat eaters.

Handcrafted bites called “Supernatural Sweets” will include Halloween-themed treats like the ghostly white chocolate cookie and mummy brownie for sharing, alongside scones with jam and cream, raspberry and meringue tart and a festive pumpkin and cinnamon cake.

Guests will also encounter Halloween tricks in the form of mysterious “Drink Me” and “Eat Me” surprises designed to delight.

Alice’s Parlour is located within Oddfellows hotel which can be found based at 20 Lower Bridge Street in central Chester. The Halloween Afternoon tea is available from Wednesday, September 30 to Sunday, November 1 between noon and 5 pm.

Guests with special dietary needs will find the hotel provides vegan, vegetarian and dairy-free substitutions on request when advised at booking.
