Home of the arts and theatre in Chester, Storyhouse is presenting Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre in the city this summer.

With the programme of productions designed for different age groups launching this week, the organiser recently gave a glimpse of the fun to come ahead of the first performance.

Exclusive photographs were shared showing images straight from the rehearsal rooms where the talented cast members were busy bringing two of the brand-new shows to life. The images showed the cast clearly enjoying running scenes together for both Outlaws: A Robin Hood Story and Let The Sun Shine!.

Offering feelgood fun, Outlaws opens in the park this Friday, July 3 and is described as a bold new take on the legend known for his skills with a longbow. Let the Sun Shine! is a drama that starts its run later, on Friday, July 10, and tells an immersive tale set in ‘60s summertime.

Outlaws is written by playwright Kieran Lynn of Gangs of New York fame, while Let The Sun Shine is a transformational work from Helen Radcliffe.

The two productions share a cast with David Ahmad, playing Arthur in Let the Sun Shine! and King John in Outlaws, Annabelle Aquino playing the characters of Cloud and Marian, Lucas Button as Harry and the Sheriff of Nottingham and Lawrence Hodgson-Mullings as Bobby and Robin Hood.

Storyhouse in the Park’s 2026 season will now run in Grosvenor Park until Sunday, September 6 and tickets are available to purchase with prices starting at £20.25.
