Beloved British Comedian Brings New Show to Chester

Stand-up comic and actor Lenny Henry will appear on stage in Chester this spring. As part of the Chester Literature Festival running in May and June, Henry will perform at Storyhouse with a brand-new show called “Still At Large”

For more than five decades, the multi-talented performer has been telling tales upon stage and on the small and big screen alike through a wealth of colourful characters loved by millions.

His new live show combines stand-up comedy with storytelling and an intimate conversation with the audience. During his appearance in Chester, Henry will return to the unique experiences that have shaped him while discussing the challenges, ideas and creativity still driving him now.

Audiences can enjoy Henry tracing his steps from the “Lenny Henry Show”, where he performed impressions and played his own characters to dramatic stage performances like his acclaimed title role in “Othello”. More recently, he acted in “The Lord of the Rings – The Rings of Power” winning the hearts of Tolkien fans as the hobbit-like elder, Sadoc Burrows. Henry will explore these career-defining characters, moments and more.

Lenny Henry: Still At Large will now be on stage in the main theatre of Storyhouse on Sunday, May 17. The performance has a start time of 7.30 pm, and the theatre is situated inside the arts centre on Hunter Street in Chester.

The show has a running time of around 110 minutes, which includes an interval for refreshments. Storyhouse member tickets are priced between £32.10 and £41.10, with non-member admission available from £35.50 to £45.50.
