A luxury hotel with a four-star rating, the Mercure Chester Abbots Well is a popular destination for those seeking a relaxing break beyond the city. However, along with offering impeccable accommodation, it’s also famous for its seasonal events calendar.
This year, the hotel is hosting a family-friendly event based on a beloved Christmas story created by iconic children’s author and illustrator, Dr Seuss. Dubbed “A Merry Who Christmas”, the winter event is inspired by “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” which has been retold on screen as a hand-drawn cartoon, as a CGI animated tale voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch and as a feature film starring Jim Carrey acting in prosthetics as the Grinch.
The Mercure Chester is inviting visitors to the city and residents from across the county to join its staff for a special themed lunch. Each dish has been designed to tantalise the taste buds of diners with options available for big and little appetites alike. There will also be an appearance from the story’s scrooge, The Grinch himself, and each child attending will get a special present.
While the festive lunch is designed for all members of the family, children must be under adult supervision for the duration of the event. The hotel humorously added:
“Unsupervised children will be banished to the grinch’s lair!”
The Merry ‘Who’ Christmas event will now take place at the Mercure Chester Abbots Well Hotel on Sunday, December 15. The hotel is situated on Whitchurch Road in Christleton, Chester.
