Chester Cathedral Grounds Are Covered in Sunflowers in Remembrance of Loved Ones

Sunflowers from The Hospice of The Good Shepherd’s Sunflower Appeal  have arrived at Chester Cathedral, the 1200 sunflowers are a ray of sunshine in memory of loved ones. The Hospice of the Good Shepherd has been overwhelmed by the response to the sunflower appeal and is hoping to continue the success of previous campaigns that have helped to raise thousands of pounds. The stunning display will last throughout August and with only 200 sunflowers remaining, time is running out to make your puchase. You can find out more from The Hospice of the Good Shepherd here …

The people of Chester had the chance to celebrate the care we continue to provide and at the same time, the opportunity to remember a loved one by purchasing one of our lovely sunflowers.

Following the success of our Forget Me Not and Dedicate a Daisy appeals over the last couple of years we have again commissioned a beautiful handcrafted and unique iron flower produced by the talented team at British Ironworks.

You can dedicate in memory of someone special or to show support for the wonderful work the Hospice continues to provide today. All of the flowers purchased will be on display within the grounds of Chester Cathedral throughout August 2021. This will give you the opportunity to come and appreciate the eye-catching display at the iconic Cathedral.

For a donation of £30 you will receive this beautiful metal sunflower as a colourful keepsake after the display at the Cathedral has ended. We will give you the opportunity to collect the flower on selected dates or we will happily send this in the post to you if you are unable to get to the Hospice.

Find out how to donate or purchase a sunflower by contacting The Hospice of the Good Shepherd’s fundraising team on 01244 851811.
