Celebrated Chester venue Alexander’s Live will soon host a summer event with a Caribbean flavour designed for all the family to enjoy. Dubbed “The Rum and Reggae Festival 2024”, the day promises music, food and drinks, with a flavour of the islands.
The Marley Experience will be headlining the event. A Midland’s based eight-piece band, they are known as the top tribute in Europe dedicated to Bob Marley and led by frontman Lionart. Celebrated English DJ General Levy will also be making his Chester Rum & Reggae debut.
Food at the festival will be supplied by Welsh masters of Caribbean cuisine Up a Yard, who took home a Wales Food Award last year and were finalists for 2024. Drinks-wise, rum punch will be flowing all day long, carefully crafted for an authentic flavour. A wide range of rum from all over the islands will be served to order whether guests enjoy it straight, with a mixer or in a cocktail. A variety of Caribbean beers will also be on offer, as well as soft drinks for drivers and younger family members.
The upcoming festival has already proved exceptionally popular, with early bird tickets entirely sold out. However, fans of rum, reggae and Caribbean gastronomy and their families can still pay on the day to enjoy the festivities. Guests are reminded that every ticket entitles them to two free glasses of rum punch, which they can claim on entry.
The Rum and Reggae Festival will take place at Alexander’s Live on Saturday, August 10. The venue can be found at Rufus Court in Chester.
