Step into Veganuary with Café Rouge’s new Vegan Afternoon Tea

Following the success of their homage to fromage Cheese Afternoon Tea and limited edition The Snowman™ festive Afternoon Tea, Café Rouge is getting creative and v-edgy again by launching a vegan offering created especially for Veganuary – the perfect treat to kick-start the new year!

The Vegan Afternoon Tea for Two at Café Rouge includes two hot drinks and three tiers of incredible vegan treats for £29.95 and guests can add a glass of limited-edition vegan Baileys Almande for £2.50pp. You’ll start with baguette filled with grilled vegetables and sun-blushed tomato tapenade and a helping of large green giarraffa olives; followed by traditional fruit scones with Bonne Maman jam and non-dairy spread.

The real treat comes with the “Plantisseries” top tier – mini rhubarb & ginger crumble pots, carrot & pistachio cake slices, plus I-can’t-believe-these-are-actually-vegan Billionaire Bars covered in rich salted toffee, chocolate ganache and finished with splashes of edible gold.

Jacqueline Fletcher, Head of Marketing at Café Rouge said: “With thousands of people pledging to try veganism this month, Veganuary is on-course for its biggest year yet. We’re delighted to be meeting the increased demand of our customers with a Vegan Afternoon Tea offering that doesn’t compromise on flavour. From our crunchy Carrot & Pistachio Slice to Mediterranean-inspired Baguette – there’s something for every taste and the Vegan Afternoon Tea is the perfect treat this January!”.

Zoe West, Corporate Outreach Manager at Veganuary said: “Veganuary is creating a new wave of consumers with strong ethics and a big appetite! This a real opportunity for businesses to improve and expand their vegan offerings for the growing climate-conscious audience. We’re delighted that Café Rouge has risen to this challenge – helping people to live more lightly on the earth while still eating food they love – we can’t wait to try their new Veganuary Afternoon Tea this January!”

In 2019, more than a quarter of a million people in the UK took Veganuary’s pledge to try a vegan diet – Café Rouge has gone above and beyond to help make this possible for even more people in 2020 with plant-based dishes available on all of their menus from breakfast through to dinner – and now with Afternoon Tea too!

Café Rouge guests can enjoy a Vegan Afternoon Tea for two for just £29.95 and can add a glass of vegan Baileys Almande for just £2.50pp. The Vegan Afternoon Tea will be available from the 6th – 31st January.
