Storyhouse Library is Open!

Slowly but surely Storyhouse is coming back to life and now the library is open every day from 8.30 am to 11 pm every day (9.30 am on Sundays) for a new order and collect service.  Find out more from Storyhouse here …

NEW: Order & Collect Service

Storyhouse Library’s new Order & Collect Service is for anyone who’s nervous about coming inside and browsing the books, or who simply likes having someone else choose their books for them, or perhaps someone collecting books for a friend/relative.

Just let us know:
• the type of books you would like e.g. crime, family sagas, humour
• the format you would like them in e.g. hardback, paperback, audiobook

…and we will pick you some books that you’ll love reading!

NEW: Phone Befriending

We’re all in need of a bit of extra support just now, so if you would like some reading recommendations, help with choosing books, or just a bookish chat, we’re here to help.

Just contact us with your name and phone number, tell us the last three books you read and enjoyed and a preferred day and time, and our friendly library staff will give you a call.

Books
Browse, order, reserve, take out and return books. From 17 May, the regular 3-week loan period will resume.
Outstanding books are due for return by 17 May – there is a Book Bin outside the building if you didn’t want to step inside.

Study and Reading Spaces
We have lots of new single study tables and spaces, all with free WiFi and charging ports.
Until 17 May, these must be used by one person and not a group.

Computer use
Computer use is free for an hour and doesn’t require booking. Extra time after that can be booked for £2 an hour. This can be booked in the library at the desks, or on the library kiosks.

Community Groups
We’re working hard on bringing the community groups back into the building safely. Thank you for your questions and feedback – following your enthusiasm, we’re hoping to bring back Rhymetime and Storytime first. Lots of groups are currently meeting online. Love talking about books? Not A Reading Group could be for you – they meet weekly on Zoom.
